Come and join our beautiful fully outdoor forest preschool, where we are providing 2-5 year olds with an exemplary early years learning experience, to help them become the children most likely to succeed in today’s world.
As our ideal Early Years Educator you will be creative, high-energy, outstanding with children and dedicated to having fun. You will have knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and be able to scaffold an environment for child-led, play-based learning. You will join a dynamic team and work together to provide wonderful opportunities for children to explore and develop.
Early Years Practitioner (Qualified)
Location: Foresteers Outdoor Preschool Greenhead House Farm, S35 0HN
Hours: 2 days, shifts between 7.30am and 5.30pm, minimum of 14 hours, full time permanent contract starting date April 2026
Salary: starting per hour £12.69 qualified
Job requirements:
– Experience working with children aged 2-5 years old
– A minimum of level 3 in childcare or QTS
– A passion for supporting children with a range of needs.
– Forest school or outdoor education experience is desirable but not essential
– Enhanced DBS Check

We also are also looking for someone who:
*Has a warm smiling face that makes every child feel special.
* That is able to laugh at jokes they don’t understand, or don’t find funny!
* If a child requests that they be a captain of a pirate ship, they will be the best pirate captain they can be!
* Feels comfortable telling everybody in the same space as them that they are going to the toilet!
* Doesn’t have to have the ability to be able to sing in tune, but must have the confidence to sing out of tune in front of a crowd.
* Must be able to distribute warm hugs, as and when required.
* Must possess the skills required to rapidly count the heads of numerous moving small people. This is of the utmost importance.
* Must have the ability to pretend to eat muddy creations realistically. This is an essential requirement along with drinking numerous cups of pretend tea.
* Must have the ability to read a ten page story, upside down, with at least 4 interruptions per page.
*You must be brave…. brave enough to see the benefits, risk assess, and watch children climbing trees, balancing on logs, and help celebrate!
We are a TOTALLY outdoor nursery, so you’ll need to be very comfortable with mud, getting wet, often cold and dealing with heat ( OK only occasionally)!
