Duration – 9am – 4pm £120 per person
- This CPD course is designed to create a community of peace and engagement as you build a positive relationship with the natural world around you. Nature play can boost self esteem, develop mindfulness and wellbeing, create strong bodies and ignites opened creativity. This course provides you with practical experiences that can be easily resourced and carried in backpack, quick accessibility to support your adventures no matter what the season. What will be covered:
- What is nature play and the benefits of it
- Consider overcoming boundaries and how to enable nature play no matter what the weather
- Risk benefit analysis
- Practical nature play experiences to inspire your daily teaching
Resource and take away your own nature play back pack, a basic kit to get you started! Includes hot drinks and biscuits. The course is entirely outdoors and hands on, and will therefore include sitting and kneeling on the ground, and being outdoors in all weathers for extended periods. Please come dressed for the weather and conditions. This will be held at Greenhead House Farm, S35 0BZ. Can be held on your own appropriate premises, minimum booking of 6.
Campfire Cooking With Kids
- Dates: Friday 14th March 2025, Friday 25th April 2025, Friday 9th May 2025, Wednesday 10th October 2025, Friday 9th January 2026, Friday 27th March 2026, Wednesday 13th May 2026
- Duration: 9am – 4pm £150
- This CPD course is designed to ignite a love and respect for the captivating campfire. With it’s flickering flames, embracing warmth and musky smell of embers, this course will develop your confidence in building a fire, safely managing a group of children around it to create the ethos of community whilst sharing food and conversation. You will also get the chance to make your own campfire popcorn holder to take home.
- What will be covered:
- Your responsibilities, including Risk Benefit Assessments, Environmental Impact Assessments, Safe Fire Procedures, and Class/Group Management
- The practical skills and knowledge required to light and manage fires including tinders, kindling, fuel and safe tool use to make these
- Fire lays
- Managing fires in small groups
- Options for necessary equipment and resources
- Basic food health and hygiene good practice
- Tried and tested quick cook recipes for groups of children
- ‘Leave no trace’ and distinguishing fires
Includes campfire lunch, hot drinks and biscuits.
