Pre-School Deputy Manager (maternity cover 1 year with possible extension)

Start date – July 28th 2022

We will nurture each individual’s holistic development through building a meaningful and positive relationship with nature. 

As a Foresteers Outdoor Preschool Deputy Manager, you will be responsible for providing excellent care that caters for the physical,emotional and intellectual well-being and development of children aged 2-5. In short, a truly holistic approach to childcare and education.

You will be involved with woodland development, planning and care of our children. You will be involved with the recruitment of other team members and will play an instrumental role in developing and shaping our unique setting.

Initially, we are looking for a Full Time Deputy Manager ( 1 years maternity cover) to be on-site 2/3 days a week Thursday and Friday, possibly a Wednesday in September between 7.30am and 5,30pm (shifts vary), outside rain or shine in a beautiful woodland location.

You will use your existing skills and passion for nature to provide a wonderful experience for our children, whilst promoting the Foresteer ethos. Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our children will be a key part of the role.

What we are looking for:

The ideal candidate must have a passion for and commitment to child-led education. They will be excited about being able to offer children the unique opportunity to be outside and connected to the natural world, rain or shine and be able to inspire, enthuse and capture young imaginations through natural play. They will be able to make rainy days irresistible!

We are looking for a motivated and dynamic deputy manager, who can lead a team of practitioners and help them to grow as educators. This key role will help to shape the future of Foresteers Outdoor Pre-School, so the ability to think creatively is a must.

Alongside essential qualifications, the ideal candidate will be committed to a holistic approach to childcare/education. They must have a good understanding and working knowledge of the EYFS, Development Matters and the creativity to deliver this through child-centred play and adventure.

Qualifications and experience:

Essential:

  • A minimum of Level 3 in childcare, playwork or an early years qualification is essential.
  • Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience
  • Experience working in an early years setting in a senior role.
  • Enhanced DBS

 

Desirable:

  • Experience of working or volunteering in a Forest School environment.
  • A Forest School qualification
  • A Level 3 or higher qualification in Early Years or childcare such as Early Years QTS, QTS (3-7 years).
  • Ofsted Experience
